October 2021 Bird Sightings
Mute Swan, Pink-footed Goose, Canada Goose, Mallard, Goosander, Pheasant, Little Grebe, Cormorant, Little Egret, Grey Heron, Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Moorhen, Coot, Black-headed Gull, Common Gull, Lesser Black Backed Gull, Stock Dove, Woodpigeon, Kingfisher, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Meadow Pipit, Grey Wagtail, Dipper, Dunnock, Robin, Song Thrush, Mistle Thrush, Blackbird, Chiffchaff, Wren, Great Tit, Coal Tit, Blue Tit, Long-tailed Tit, Nuthatch, Treecreeper, Magpie, Jay, Jackdaw, Rook, Carrion Crow, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Bullfinch, Reed Bunting. i recall i first visited elland gp as it was known in 1987, the lagoons had just been dug out and still machines, i cycled down on an evening from 88-92 geat place
honey buzzarad, little tern, little gull , redstart , watching gulls when you could still access the ski lake, green sanpipers and greenshank
but sadly the place is too overgrown and busy sad i rarley visit now great place lots of memories
Darrell, thanks for the comment. That is quite a list of birds you saw. Sadly most of the species you mention are no longer seen in Calderdale anymore let alone CB. Regarding your comment about it being busy, at least this means that large numbers of people are enjoying the reserve.
