The shrinking lagoon

They say a picture speaks a thousand words....

This photo was taken in March 2015, looking westwards into the lagoon from the bund bridge.

This one, and the next one, were taken on the work day last Saturday, standing in the same spot.

Dear Members and Friends

Around 18 members came along to our reed bash. A large swathe was cleared in around 3 hours. A big thankyou to everyone who came to help us, especially to Robin who made the task easier.

That time of year has come again - We need to assault parts of the Reed Bed & cut down the Reeds for new Growth & thinning out!

This Saturday the 5th of November Meeting

Dear all
The meeting this coming Saturday the 5th of November is unfortunately cancelled as the Footbridge will be closed due to nearby works. This cannot be helped as the work is essential.  Access is available via "Avocet" or Rastrick and Elland.

There will be full access (hopefully) next Saturday the 12th when we need as many volunteers as possible to clear reeds from the Lagoon.

Wellies advised. Hot drinks / Refreshments in the Cabin. Meet at 9:30 am
at the Cabin or car park.
