Work Party Saturday the 29th of November

There were twelve of us who met to carry out some more reed cutting. Good progress was made into an overgrown part of the lagoon. A few birch were removed as part of the project.

Present were: Alan, Barry, Bella, Bruce, Carol, David, Graham, John, Robin, Shelagh, Simon and Wendy. With a special welcome to Carol and Wendy.

Robin makes good progress in to the old reeds, some well over 2 metre tall.

The cleared section extends beyond my shot as I did not have my wellies on.

Nidderdale Birdwatchers Meeting at CB Friday November the 21st

Eleven people came along to the meeting and enjoyed a walk round the reserve. Graham described the site in detail at various locations. A break was taken at the Bird Viewing Area. Later they walked towards Brook Foot to look for migrant thrushes.

The Nidderdale Birdwatchers were founded in 2008 so like us they are quite a young group.  Their newsletters are an excellent quarterly publication Link to their site.

The area cleared will encourage fresh growth

Robin admires his and the other's work.

From the Undergrowth

Hi all a few from the last couple of weeks and as its Remembrance Sunday some pics from last weekend's trip to the Tower of London ,its a very sobering experience when you think that every poppy there is British a life lost .    On the feeders its Jay city at the moment.
Just a quick reminder to all photographers we put the feeding area in for the Birds and for all to see the birds after that there has been some damage to trees planted last year and suspect its a photographer breaking branches off to get a better picture please do not damage anything in there just WAIT until a better opportunity arises, your on going co-operation will be welcome .Hope you enjoy the pics
