A few from this week  , the Woodpeckers have now fledged they went out of the nest on Monday evening around 7-30 . The weather has been kind for a few days and there are lots of Bugs and Beasties around plus the mosquitoes are in fine form with sharpend teeth , below are a few pics with the macro lens and the last shots of the peckers.   .If anyone can help with id's please do.

The moth is a scarce form of latticed heath chiasmia clathrata clathrata form absoletissima, not seen it before ,but latticed Heath has a stronghold at CB,,,nice record...if you have any other details I will forward it to YNU.

Hi Graham a Good selction of Images your Hover is the Sun Fly or Heliophilus pendulus and the Scorpion Fly Panorpa spp a Female with Males only identifiable to species - it is likely P.communis but I have found a lot of P.gemanica recently, The Lacewing Chrysopa perla. I think the Cranefly id Tipula varipennis there is some type shots on the Flikr stream
