The moth is a scarce form of latticed heath chiasmia clathrata clathrata form absoletissima, not seen it before ,but latticed Heath has a stronghold at CB,,,nice record...if you have any other details I will forward it to YNU.
can I use the pic of moth.?
Hi Andy by all means use it its the first time i have seen it so didnt know what it was and i have 3 pics of it which the one on the blog is the best one , it was taken by the bottom pond by tag stream which is almost dry if thats any help. yours Graham
Hi Graham a Good selction of Images your Hover is the Sun Fly or Heliophilus pendulus and the Scorpion Fly Panorpa spp a Female with Males only identifiable to species - it is likely P.communis but I have found a lot of P.gemanica recently, The Lacewing Chrysopa perla. I think the Cranefly id Tipula varipennis there is some type shots on the Flikr stream
Thanks Colin . yours Graham
