From the undergrowth

Ringlet butterflies are starting to come out in good numbers as are the Burnet Moths, good bird numbers at least 5 wren families 2 Goldfinch, 3 Reed Warbler, more Whitethroat and Black Cap than previous years. Willow Warbler I would say 6 families, Kingfisher had 3 young, Little Grebe had 2 but only one showing now, we still have a problem with Mink, one was seen taking a female Mallard last week and trying to get to the Kingfisher nest but failed on that occasion. A few from yesterday and today.
