Hello - I haven't heard of a Mandarin local to Cromwell, certainly haven't seen one - but it's a long canal & river so possible. As for nuthatch - I think they have on occasion been seen around Carpark - But our Trees are not really mature enough for them on site yet. They tend to like very mature/acient woodland, which is not a million miles from the Feeding station. Maybe they are "shacked" up with Tree Sparrows, Bramblings, Yellowhammers, Linnet & Willow Tits?
There was a single male mandarin duck in brighouse centre on the canal near sainsburys bridge but that was over a year ago now, probably long since served up in a local eatery!!
Thanks all, mandarin was pretty common at CB a few years ago and Nuthatch 15 years ago was very rare indeed.Looking forward to the new year, all the best for the festive period...Andy

A member of Hx Scientific Soc reported a male Mandarin seen regularly on the canal at Mytholmroyd. That was this week (Tuesday.)
