A few from Sunday, the weather was poor and very windy ,   Id's welcome

From the undergrowth

Had an hour down on the reserve this morning , very quite but had the first Common Blue butterfly of the year on the grass bank we cut in the autum . Also cut the grass in the feeding area and a Robin turned up strait away , and some Marsh Orchids in new places from last year .

Solstice Walk

Here are some pictures of the solstice walk. 18 of us set off for a 2 hour walk around the reserve. We were blessed with a very pleasant, dry evening. Many species of plant and invertebrate were seen.

Friday 21st of June Wildside Walk



Solstice walk. Meet in the car park opposite the pallet works behind Cromwell House and join the members of the Cromwell Bottom Wildlife Group for an informative walk around the Local Nature Reserve looking at the abundance of seasonal wildlife and flowers. 

No charge, but donations to the Wildlife Group welcome. Insect repellent essential.
Event time: 7 pm - 9 pm
Venue:   Cromwell Bottom, Elland Rd (A6025)

A few from this week  , the Woodpeckers have now fledged they went out of the nest on Monday evening around 7-30 . The weather has been kind for a few days and there are lots of Bugs and Beasties around plus the mosquitoes are in fine form with sharpend teeth , below are a few pics with the macro lens and the last shots of the peckers.   .If anyone can help with id's please do.
