Work Party this Saturday
Just a reminder that we will have a work party this Saturday the 9th. We need to mark off a line for hedge planting. sort the saplings ready for planting on the 27th. And if time permits do some more reed cutting.
I am bringing my old scythe - the traditional way of cutting reeds for thatch, as well as many crops including hay.
Scything is currently undergoing a resurgence with many courses and competitions for it.
I picked it up a long time ago, and am no longer very strong or fast at it, but I am willing to pass on a few tips I have learned along the way. And no, I'm not the Grim Reaper! First one to crack that joke buys a round. :-)
