So there we are, all sitting comfortably shooting bullfinches, robins, goldfinches, nuthatches, chaffinches and various varieties of tit. Enter this beautiful female sparrow hawk, landing on the "wigwam" shaped woodpile on the left of the viewing area.
Normally they're straight in and out and if they grab a meal on the wing then they've done OK. This one however decided enter the woodpile and chase its prey inside it. She then came out and perched on this log before going back into the wigwam. What a sight!
Then, walking home I spotted this grey wagtail on the weir.
What an exceptional day it turned out to be. The sunshine was just an added bonus!
